Undefeated Boxing Champion Terence Crawford Announces Retirement

The legendary American boxer, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KO), a conqueror across five different weight divisions, has announced his retirement from professional boxing at the age of 38.

Crawford, known widely as `Bud,` steps away from the sport holding the WBA, IBF, and WBO super middleweight titles, which he secured following his decisive unanimous victory over Saul Alvarez in September. While he also held the WBC belt, it was recently vacated earlier this month due to outstanding commission payments.

In an emotional video released on X, Crawford shared his profound sentiments regarding the decision:

“Every fighter knows that this moment will eventually arrive. We just don`t know exactly when. My entire life has been focused on striving for something greater. And that aspiration was never just about belts, money, or titles. It is that unique feeling that arises when the entire world doubts your ability, yet you stand firm and prove them wrong.”

“I fought for my family. I fought for my city. I fought for that young kid I once was, who possessed nothing but a dream and a simple pair of gloves. And I did it entirely on my own terms. I have given every breath, every scar, every success, and every piece of my heart to this sport. I look forward to the future with happiness. The time has finally come.”
