WEST LAFAYETTE — Kevin Kane must be either the secret ingredient to Purdue football’s roster retention efforts or a pied piper bringing a parade of talent with him to Ross-Ade Stadium. Nothing else explains why coach Barry Odom hired Kane to coordinate his defense. Kane did that once before — a mere two years ago, overseeing arguably the worst defense in program history.
