Exeter Chiefs are not Premiership Champions through pure luck or anyone’s judgement. They won the title fair and square, beating some of the best teams in Europe on the way : Saracens in the semis and Wasps in the final. But for unknown reasons they were not really given much chance by the press or anyone local coming up against Montpellier this Sunday afternoon. Exeter are renowned for their fast wing to wing play, with little clearance kicks. They tend to run the ball from anywhere on the park, and their rush defence is very effective.
