0 10

The LEN Family has learnt with immense sadness that renowned Serbian international water polo referee Nenad Golijanin passed away today.

Nenad was a fine water polo player who became a referee almost immediately after his retirement. His dedication, great knowledge and modesty earned him recognition first at home then at European and international events. He rose on the ranks at a fine pace, refereed a lot of European cup games and was picked for the 2012 European Championships in Eindhoven and then for the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona. As a highlight of his career, he officiated the women’s final at the 2012 Europeans and also whistled in medal matches at various age-group European Championships.

All members of the LEN Family feel heartbroken by hearing the sad news that Nenad lost his personal battle in these disastrous days of the pandemic. Our thoughts are with his family and friends – may he rest in piece.
