Well done to Dominique Zahra who received the Junior Water Polo player of the Year trophy

Dominique was the outstanding junior water polo player in the East District in 2017 and is a deserved winner of this award.

He excelled at both domestic and international level. The highlight being his selection to the GB junior men's team that competed at the LEN European Qualifying tournament that took place in Manchester earlier in 2017. The GB team were extremely unlucky to only finish third and not qualify. Dominique was picked as one of the starting seven players and played very well scoring a number of goals including one with only 0.1 seconds left of the match against Israel to give GB a 5-4 win.

Dominique was also been selected to play with Caledonia Men a number of times in the British Water Polo League, which is the highest standard of competition available in the UK

In addition to this award Dominique was also voted the Scottish water polo junior player of the year for 2017 and has won a number of awards at his club Warrender.
