Weekend Watch: Austin FC home game, UT Beach Volleyball, and Reggae Fest
AUSTIN (KXAN) - This weekend is packed with things to do: Austin FC is playing at Q2 Stadium, and UT Beach Volleyball wraps up its regular season again at three different schools. Plus, Reggae Festival returns and celebrates its 30th anniversary event.
Weekend Forecast
This weekend may bring a few showers and thunderstorms. Rain chances start to ramp up at midday on Saturday, with storms possible all night long with a 40% chance. Sunday is when we expect more storms with a 50% chance. Keep your umbrella handy. We could see anywhere from 1-2" of rainfall.
UT Beach Volleyball
It's the last game of the regular season, and Texas is bringing in three big-hitting teams to go head to head. It's the Lone Star Invitational at the Wright-Whitaker Sports Complex located on Guadalupe. On Friday, the games will be at 1 p.m. for Southern Miss and 4:30 p.m. for Cal Poly. The two games will stream on the CW Austin as well if you can't make it out there. On Saturday, the game will be at noon again North Florida and will also stream on KBVO. KXAN's very own Brianna Hollis will be on the broadcast team as well! The games are free, so be sure to swing by and check it out.
Austin Reggae Fest
Bob Marley would be proud of the strength of reggae music, especially here in Austin, as the Austin Reggae Festival returns and celebrates its 30th anniversary. Taking place at Auditorium Shores, the event runs Friday, April 18, through Sunday, April 20. Each day, there will be headliners who come in from all across to be here. The event is family friendly, with kids under 12 getting in for free, plus there will be plenty of food and drinks for you to enjoy. Austin FC home game
Austin FC comes home and takes on the LA Galaxy this Saturday, April 19, at Q2 Stadium. The game kicks off at 12:45 p.m. as Austin FC returns after a loss to Vancouver this past weekend. Currently sixth in the Western Conference standings, Austin FC is looking to improve their standing with four wins and three losses this season so far. Tickets are still available on their website.
