JACKSON, Ohio - After taking West Virginia University-Tech to five sets in its opening match of the day, the University of Rio Grande volleyball team's performance against rival Shawnee State proved to be quite a bit less memorable.
The Bears rolled to a straight sets rout of the RedStorm (25-21, 25-16, 25-20) to close out the final round of the 3rd Annual Emileigh Jo Cooper Memorial Tournament, Saturday afternoon, at Jackson High School.
Rio Grande, which dropped a 3-2 marathon decision to WVU-Tech (27-25, 25-27, 22-25, 25-15, 15-11) earlier in the day, finished 1-3 in its season-opening tourney.
