(TOURNAMENT BRACKET | VIDEO STREAMING | STATS) Kansas Wesleyan is the No. 3 seed in the Kansas Conference volleyball tournament that will be played Friday and Saturday at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

Coach Fred Aubuchon's Coyotes (25-7) have a first-round bye and play the winner of the match between No. 6 Friends or No. 11 Oklahoma Wesleyan in the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

A victory would send them into the semifinals at 1:30 p.m. Saturday against the winner of the Ottawa-Bethel/Southwestern quarterfinal match. The championship's scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday. Ottawa defeated KWU 3-1 in their regular season game Oct. 27 at Mabee Arena.

Wesleyan is seeking a berth in the NAIA national tournament. Top-seeded McPherson has already qualified by virtue of winning the KCAC regular season title.

KWU's Morgan Beougher (SR/Stockton, Kan.), a senior from Stockton, is one of the conference's top defensive specialists and spearheads the Coyotes' defensive thrust. She ranks fifth in the KCAC in digs at 4.9 per set and is seventh with 526 digs on the season.

Beougher discussed the tournament, the rivalry with Ottawa, her transition from outside hitter to defensive specialist and her four years at Wesleyan during a question and answer session earlier this week.
