[Women's Tennis] UNOH Wins Women's Tennis Tournament

LIMA, Ohio - (Complete Results  |  Conference Honors) - Top-seeded Northwestern Ohio won its third Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Tennis Tournament crown after defeating second-seeded Davenport 5-1. After receiving a first-round bye courtesy of their regular-season title, the Racers dropped just one match during the next two contests. The tournament championship gives UNOH the league's automatic berth to the 2017 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship May 16-20 in Mobile, Ala.

Conference honors were also handed out. UNOH head coach Phil Carlisle was named Coach of the Year and Racer freshman Amanda Schneider earned both Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Concordia's Kirk Boettcher was voted as the Champions of Character Coach.

First and second team All-Conference along with All-Academic (junior or above in academic standing with cumulative 3.25 GPA) and Champions of Character (best exemplifies five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership) were awarded.
