Felix Auger-Aliassime will be seeking redemption when the tennis competition gets underway at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Auger-Aliassime is one of five players Tennis Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee announced as part of their tennis lineup Thursday.

The Olympic tennis tournaments are scheduled to take place July 27 to 4 Aug. 4 at Roland Garros, home of the French Open.

The 23-year-old from Montreal reached the fourth round of the French Open last month before falling to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Auger-Aliassime and Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., will represent Canada in men’s singles and also team up for doubles action.

Meanwhile, Leylah Fernandez of Laval, Que., and Bianca Andreescu from Mississauga, Ont., will compete for Canada in women’s singles.

Fernandez will handle double duty partnering with Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski for women’s doubles.

Auger-Aliassime is ranked No. 18 in men’s singles competition while a protected ranking was used for Raonic at No. 33.

Fernandez is 33rd on the women’s side while a protected ranked was also used for Andreesu at 64th.

Canada has medalled once in tennis at Olympics with Sebastien Lareau and Daniel Nestor capturing gold in men’s doubles at the Sydney 2000 Games.
