Serena Williams to Host ESPYs 2024 as Part of Post-Tennis Career

The next project in Serena Williams‘ post-tennis career has been announced!

The 42-year-old former tennis star is hosting the 2024 ESPY Awards, which will be held on July 11.

The show went on without a host in 2023 due to the Writers Guild strike, but Serena will be making her hosting debut for the event this summer.

ESPN’s annual awards show honors the best in sports and the event has aired on sister channel ABC for the past decade. Recent hosts have included Stephen Curry and Anthony Mackie.

“I couldn’t be more excited to host The ESPYS,” Serena said in a statement. “This is a dream come true for me, and something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember. It has been a sensational year for sports and an unprecedented one for female athletes…I can’t wait to celebrate everyone on-stage in July.”
