Men’s Tennis Open SEC Tournament Against Vanderbilt
AUBURN, Ala. – The Razorbacks are set to travel to Auburn, Alabama this week as they open the SEC Men’s Tennis Tournament on Wednesday. Arkansas (12-14, 0-12) will be the 13-seed and face 12-seeded Vanderbilt on Wednesday at noon.
The Razorbacks and Commodores last faced each other to open league play this season with Vanderbilt coming out on top of a 4-2 decision. Arkansas is still searching for its first conference win as they enter postseason play off of a 4-0 loss to Tennessee.
The Hogs come in at No. 74 in the latest ITA rankings with the doubles duo of Melvin Manuel and Adrien Burdet sitting as No. 78. Freshman Gerard Planelles Ripoll currently leads the team in singles wins, posting a 15-8 record through the dual season.
Vanderbilt closed out its regular season with a 4-1 loss to No. 46 LSU, moving to 7-16 overall and 2-10 against SEC opponents. The Commodores have one doubles pair in the rankings as well, with Jeremie Casabon and Siim Troost coming in at No. 19.
The winner of the Vanderbilt/Arkansas match will play No. 5-seed Texas A&M on Thursday at 6 p.m.
