Andy Murray donates winnings to NHS and vows to get ‘virtually’ legless after Madrid Open Virtual Pro triumph
ANDY MURRAY has landed a lockdown title — after beating David Goffin in the final of the Madrid Open Virtual Pro.
Muzza edged his Belgian rival 7-6 in a tiebreak on the PlayStation game Tennis World Tour.

The virtual competition replaced the postponed Madrid Open, which the Scot has won twice.
Two-time Wimbledon champ Murray, 32, said on Instagram: “I’ll be donating half of the $45,000 prize money to the NHS and the other half to the tennis player relief fund.”
Murray received a walkover in the semis as opponent Diego Schwartzman had a ‘connection issue’.
The charity initiative will donate £43,600 to the Madrid Food Bank helping those hit hard by Covid-19.

Earlier this month, Murray revealed he may have contracted coronavirus before the lockdown.
The British hero, 32, felt unwell at the back end of March but did not get a test.
The three-time Grand Slam champ self-isolated before the new Government measures came into force a few days later.
Speaking to CNN, Murray said: “I was a little bit sick for two or three days about four weeks ago.
. #kids #meninkilts #skirts“So actually, before the beginning of when the quarantine started, I was sort of isolating for probably four or five days before that.
“Most people I’ve spoken to have had some sort of symptoms and felt a little bit sick, but it’s quite difficult to know whether you have actually had the virus or not.
“And obviously, the test should be saved for people that are in severe situations and the frontline NHS workers in this country.”
