[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis falls to Friends 9-0

WICHITA – The Kansas Wesleyan women's tennis team dropped Friday's match with the Friends Falcons 9-0 at the Friends University Tennis Courts.

The Coyotes continue to be plagued by injuries and took a shorthanded group to face the Falcons.

Only one doubles match was contested as Friends' Madeline Watson and Amanda Zavala beat Zofia Selwesiuk (FR/Wroclaw, Poland) and Brianna Mendoza (SO/Balch Springs, Texas) in a tightly contest 9-7 match.

Three singles flights were contested as well. At No. 1, Watson beat Selwesiuk 8-6 in another close match. At No. 2 Zavala beat Mendoza 8-5; and at No. 3 Ariel Williams beat Gia Bryant (FR/Lyons, Kan.) 8-0.

The Coyotes will play a second match in as many days on Saturday, taking on Tabor in Hillsboro.
