The Kansas Wesleyan women's tennis team played its second match in as many days, facing the Ottawa University Braves on Sunday at the Salina Central Tennis Courts. A shorthanded Coyote squad fell to the Braves 8-1.

No. 1 singles player Paola Vargas (SO/Santa Cruz, Bolivia) missed Sunday's match after suffering an injury in Saturday's contest against Sterling, leaving the Coyotes with only three players to compete.

In the three contested singles matches, the Coyotes got a win in the No. 2 flight as Brianna Mendoza (SO/Balch Springs, Texas) beat Nicole Robbins 8-4. In the other two matches, Ottawa picked up wins. Gabby Arias beat Zofia Selwesiuk (FR/Wroclaw, Poland) 8-5 in the No. 1 flight and Tiffany Iurato beat Jessica Smith (SO/Salina, Kan.) 8-2 in the No. 3 flight.

In the only doubles match contested, Arias and Robbins got an 8-2 win over Mendoza and Smith.

Wesleyan is back in action this week with matches at Friends on Thursday, at Tabor on Saturday and at McPherson next Sunday.
