WICHITA, Kan. – The 2019 KCAC Preseason Women's Tennis Team has been released by the conference office and Kansas Wesleyan's Paola Vargas (SO/Santa Cruz, Bolivia) earned a spot on the team. The team is highlighted by four returning All-KCAC first team selections. All six student-athletes were selected to the team by vote of the KCAC Head Women's Tennis Coaches.  

Vargas returns after earning KCAC Freshman of the Year honors last season. Vargas posted a 13-6 record in singles matches, including going 9-4 in duals and a 6-1 mark in conference play. In doubles, she went 6-7 on the season and was 4-3 in the KCAC. She finished the regular season ranked No. 5 in the ITA Tennis NAIA Central Region and was ranked No. 43 in the ITA Tennis NAIA National Rankings.

The ITA also released its most recent regional and national rankings for NAIA women's tennis.

Vargas is currently ranked tenth in the Central Region regional rankings. So far this season Vargas is 4-6 overall and 0-4 in duals

Vargas and doubles teammate Zofia Selwesiuk (FR/Wroclaw, Poland) are ranked tenth in the latest ITA Central Region regional rankings. The duo is 2-7 overall and 0-4 in duals.

The Coyote tennis teams are back in action on Wednesday, in the KCAC opener, hosting the Bethany Swedes in a First Bank Kansas Smoky Hill Showdown match-up at 10:30 a.m. at Salina Central HS.
