January 4, 2019. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and state Sport Minister Stuart Ayres speaking to media at Olympic Park in Sydney about a $50 million upgrade to the Tennis Centre. Berejiklian says it will mean NSW can host more Association of Tennis Professionals' events and also boost netball venues. Ayres says work on the upgrade will begin after the Sydney International and should be ready for the 2021 tennis season. Tennis spectators in Sydney's west will have a roof over their heads for the first time this century after the state government on Friday announced an upgrade of the Tennis Centre, built ahead of the 2000 Olympics.
