[Women's Tennis] Seven Wildcats Make Women's Tennis All-League Team
MARION, Ind. – A perfect fall season for Indiana Wesleyan University women’s tennis led to quite a haul in the Crossroads League postseason honors which were announced by the league on Tuesday.
All six Wildcat singles players were recognized as All-Crossroads League. Players voted All-League were Lizzie Bauss, Alex Mella, Maddie Bemisderfer, Thewuni Devaraja, Marissa Klein, and Laura Moore. Head coach Eddy Shigley was named the Crossroads League Coach of the Year.
"Every one of our top six girls were deserving of this honor,” stated Shigley. “I'm so glad they were recognized by the other coaches of the Crossroads League. Once again, this just shows how our girls dominated league play this year. I am very proud of them."
Indiana Wesleyan had 6 of the 15 All-League honors. Marian (Ind.) was next with four players, Huntington (Ind.) and Taylor (Ind.) each had two, and Grace (Ind.) had one.
The Wildcats completed the fall season with an unblemished 16-0 record and a 9-0 record in Crossroads League play. IWU won both the Crossroads League regular season and tournament championships to earn the automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship in May.
