[Women's Tennis] Three singles wins not enough in 5-4 loss at Dubuque
Losing two of three doubles matches, both by 8-6 scores, ended up being the difference as St. Ambrose fell to Dubuque 5-4 Thursday afternoon.
Meg Chadick and Kiersten Housenga each won two matches for the Bees, including a combined 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. The No. 1 team of Alex Horton and Elizabeth Bush and the No. 3 pairing of Shannon McEachern and Emma Lang each lost 8-6.
SAU was unable to overcome the 2-1 deficit after splitting the six singles matches.
Chadick surrendered just two games in her 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles while Housenga did not drop a game in her 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 5 spot.
Lang picked up the other St. Ambrose win, a 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 6 singles.
The Bees will host Cornell Thursday in the team's lone home dual of the fall.
