Cracked pipes and mains leak 46 swimming pools a day

SYDNEY is bleeding 46 Olympic swimming pools of water every day — the equivalent of almost $230,000 worth to consumers — through leaks in the city’s ageing pipes while the rest of the state languishes in the worst drought in living memory.
