NE wind swell showing Saturday morning
Hello Friends,
Wind was coming lightly from the NNW at daybreak and a distinct but somewhat disorganised NE swell was tickling the MHL buoy. Out at sea it was 1.8 metres at a shade under 9 seconds apart. As the pictures show, that was translating into waist to chest-plus wave faces at well aligned locations.
Tide was coming in to the 1.44 m high at 0835 and the water temp was sitting on 22°C.
Weather was dull but not completely overcast and as 0700, the radar showed that the light shower/sprinkles were still mostly out at sea.
Weather Situation
A strong high-pressure system near New Zealand is extending a ridge over New South Wales coastal waters, maintaining northeast to southeasterly winds. Winds will become fresh north to northeasterly during the weekend as a cold front and its associated trough approach the state.
