Swell filling in Saturday morning

0 17

Hello Friends,

As foretold by the BoM this morning dawns clear and chilly. At 0700, the wind was 7-10 kts from the west. Out at sea, the MHL buoy showed 2.3 metres of 9-ish second period straight south swell. The data shows that it peaked at 3 metres shortly before midnight. It also shows the swell holding around the 3 metre mark along the south coast, so I’d guess it’s not going to get smaller today.

As the pictures show, the locations with the best south exposure were seeing the biggest waves, while those on the sidelines were much smaller. Sets along the Narrabeen stretch looked to be in the shoulder high range with the odd head plus. It was around the same size at Dee Why and bigger out the back at Longy.

The models continue to show the swell size holding at around the 2-3 metre level from now until next weekend!

Go well with your Saturday everyone and beginners, know your limits.
