Another tiny morning to finish the work week
Hello Friends,
This morning looks very like yesterday. The wind was coming faintly from the WNW and the MHL data from 0700 showed 0.9 metres of 13-second SSE. Tide hit the 1.7 metre high at 0750 and at this writing was now dropping to the 0.38 low at 1355. Given the settings, it’s no surprise to see Dee Why is just this side of flat. All the indications are that it’ll stay tiny until the southerly change arrives late this afternoon.
The week ahead continues to look promising though. Check the Goat’s thoughts on these matters, right here.
Go well with your Friday!
Forecast issued at 4:00 am EST on Friday 17 April 2026.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system is extending a ridge over the northern waters while a cold front and its associated trough approach from south. A southerly change is forecast for Friday as the front moves north along the coast reaching the northern border early Saturday morning. In the wake of this, the high pressure moves east, reaching the southern Tasman Sea by Sunday and bringing settled weather. This system is then expected to become slow-moving for several days.
