Dropped but very clean
Hello Friends,
Westerly breeze making conditions super clean- and chilly. But swell’s dropped significantly and it was much less consistent. As of 0930 wind was WNW 12-20 kts, air temp was 13 C (so most surfers were giving the steamer a shakedown cruise at the first hint of autumn). The MHL buoy data from 0700 showed a mix of south and east energy with the later dominating and being 2 metres at 9 seconds. This is a lull. As the Marine Forecast below warns, Huey’s winding up to give us a massive 7-10 metre south punch along with howling 45 knot SW gusts.
Should be interesting.
As for the rest of the week, well, the Mighty Goat has rolled out his thoughts on that very topic…
(Warning from Sydney Water popped up on my phone this morning with an alert about Warriewood outfall being a mix of partially-treated and treated effluent.)
.
Weather Situation
A strong cold front is forecast to sweep the northern coastal waters early today, with fresh to strong southwesterly winds in its wake. The southerly airstream will increase further to gale-force, and large, powerful waves will develop as a low forms off the south coast and brushes the southern and central parts of the coast between today and early Saturday, before the system heads into the Tasman Sea through the weekend.
