The Goat’s Surf Forecast

0 1

Surf forecast issued Thursday 19 March 2026: Seven day outlook for Sydney

Today – for a time – TG just sat chilling, watching and listening to the lazy little waves. The hot sun on his T shirted back and the idyllic towering white tropical looking cumulus on the horizon, brought back happy memories of a surfing trip to the Maldives some decades ago. The only real difference was that today’s waves were so lazy that they couldn’t be bothered running all the way to shore.. whereas the Maldivian waves were well overhead… But we digress.

The Surf Outlook for the week ahead is pretty much more of the same. Maybe you could break out the lielows to have some fun on the little waves. Bet that’s something you haven’t considered eh?? Or you might be able to jag an occasional surfable wave.

Friday: around 1 ish metres or less South East

Saturday: ditto

Sunday: same same  East South East

Monday: ditto South East

Tuesday: ditto North East

Wednesday: might be/ maybe up slightly – depending…

Thursday: similar

26 degree water, 27 degree air, should mean you can’t go wrong… But with on and off showers forecast and resultant runoff, check water quality and any nasty marine hazards.

At least you’ve got the possibility of catching wave powered fun.   Why not be hard core like they are in Denmark and the Netherlands – use your legs to power your pushbike to get you to the beach!

Have Fun!

Up in the Air

Have a go at Severe TC Narelle. She’s off her face – 926.. She’s spinning around like Kylie so hard they expect her to cross Cape York, passing over the poor little town of Coen and adjacent areas (check daily updates), head back across the Gulf of Carpentaria picking up water and rebuilding her strength, then across the top end of the NT/WA, …and then keep spinning around to somewhere out off Broome (to catch her breath?).

The BoM says “VERY DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS in excess of 250 km/h are possible near the centre of Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle as it crosses the Cape York Peninsula coast. VERY DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS will persist about the centre of Narelle for some distance inland”.
