Glassy, tiny and murky

0 2

Hello Friends,

There were nice looking, soft, glassy little lines coming into the middle of the Manly stretch this morning, but no one was in the water at Curly or Dee Why when I went by around 0800. The water at Manly looked like very weak chocolate milk. I bet there are a few of us thinking that maybe waiting another day or two might be the go.

As of 0900 the wind was coming faintly from the SW, skies looked to be clearing and the MHL buoy data from 0600 was showing 1.8 metres of 8-second energy from the E by ESE. Tide bottomed out at 0805 and is currently filling back into the 1.48 metre high at 1345.

Wind could remain light all day and the swell models show size holding around the current mark too.

Tomorrow is shaping to be more interesting as the models show an easterly pulse with 10-second periods starting to fill in and then building steadily into the 2-ish metre 12-ish second range by Thursday morning. Sounds like hitting it early will be the plan as the SE’r is set to turn up Thursday morning…

Have a great Tuesday!

Weather Situation

A high over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge over the coastal waters, while a trough near the Hunter Coast weakens today. Another trough extends from Queensland into the northern Tasman Sea and is associated with a low that is forecast to move further into the Tasman over the coming days. From Thursday, the next trough looks set to cross the coastal waters into Friday, with fresh gusty southerly winds in its wake.
