Humid, grey and little

0 1

Hello Friends,

Up early for the Saturday ABC 702 surf report gig and it was another sultry, cloudy start to the day along the beaches. At 0600 the wind was out of the NNE at 5-9 kts and the MHL data from 0400 was showing 1.5 metres of 9-second energy mainly from the east. Pretty much where things were at yesterday evening. Tide was coming off the 0540 low and headed toward a moderate 1.49 metre high at 1140.

As the pictures show, there are surf options around this morning. It was glassy and waist to chest high at the locations dialled into the swell conditions.

So, if you don’t mind the dull weather, it should be possible to find a little something at focal points along most of Sydney’s beaches.

Tomorrow looks pretty ordinary, but as we head into next week, prospects aren’t too bad for a run of fun-size waves. And, according to some models, it could be into the very good zone by the end of the week.

Go well!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge over northern NSW and pushing north to northeasterly winds over northern coastal waters. Meanwhile a trough will strengthen during the weekend as it tracks northward along the coast, reaching the Hunter Coast by Sunday before stalling, as a second high pressure system enters the Tasman Sea and directs east to southeasterly winds over coastal waters.
