The Goat’s Surf Forecast
Surf forecast issued Friday 6 March 2026: Seven day outlook for Sydney
TG carried out extensive research today on your behalf (and his incidentally) closely examining conditions at several beaches – well, two.
Look, there were some takers out there today – less than you could count on one hand, unusual for a hot Friday – and there were waves (1.123 m, 8.9 sec E/SSE)…but ..
Water colour is semi /sort of/ not fabulous.
It was sunny, with a refreshing 20k ESE breeze and pleasant 26 degree air (23 degree water), lazy vibe, giving a laid back Windward Hawaii feel to the day.
Even so, or even naturally, TG decided No thanks, and got a bahn mi (good Aussie tucker) to enjoy in the shade. By the time he’d finished, it was a definite No to any lingering thoughts of getting wet today, as the grey sea mist returned.covering everything.. Sky is blue again now! But can you trust it??
The lifeguards had a sign (of the times) at the flags…”Stay close to shore”… TG doesn’t think they meant because of the raging surf.
The Precautionary Principle seems to be the new thing, at least while current weather conditons, and feeding conditions according to “the experts”, keep recurring on an ongoing basis.
As someone said to TG: You’d have to be unlucky.
But as Clint says: Are you feeling lucky?.. Punk!
Just for info, the annual Avalon Beach Ocean Swims have been cancelled this year (visit https://oceanswims.com/event/avalon-beach-surf-swim/).
The Surf Outlook for the week ahead is
Saturday: 1-1+ metres North East
Sunday: maybe in the 1-2 metre rnage at places facing dead South, with wind
Monday: similar South East
Tuesday: 1-1+ metres Eastish
Wednesday: ditto sameoh
Thursday: depending on what a Low expectied to be E of Qld does, maybe 2ish or more metres Eastish but it’s a bit soon to say yet.
So having taken all that into account in his supercomputer brain, TG says It’s time for a nap!
Stay safe and Have Fun!
At least you’re not in Qld/ Dubai/ Insert place you’d rather not be, here…
Unless you are of course, in which case: Commisserations to you!
Keep smiling!
TG.
