Surf forecast issued Thursday 19 February 2026: Seven day outlook for Sydney
Despite the mornings often starting out flat there have been some days when lower tides have provided some fun waves for some.. particularly on sunny days when water visibility has been reasonable.
At other times like on cloudy onshorey days after recent shower activity, many with long term ocean experience have decided that the wave enjoyment factor/risk factor ratio has simply not been positive in the current environment. Ocean pools are popular.
The outlook is for more showers or two, partly cloudy, blah blah blah, but some sunny periods.
Timing and numbers (like schools of fish?) might be the best policy at the moment.
Surf outlook:
Friday: around 1 – 1 plus metres at places open to dead South
Saturday: ditto
Sunday: smaller
Monday: around 1- 1 plus metres North East, before a southerly change
Tuesday: ditto dead South places
Wednesday: ditto East
Thursday: ditto North East.
