Solid looking at the point this morning
Hello Friends,
A handful of surfers were in the water at the point as of 0800 when the wind was coming lightly from the SW and the swell was 2.5 metres at 14 seconds from the SSE. Sets were head-high plus. That means beginners need to give it a pass and intermediates need to know their limits. Tide was dropping to the low at 1000. By the time we get to the high at 1550, the wind should be 10-15 kts from the NE.
From the look of the swell forecast, we should have smaller waves for the morning sessions for the remainder of the week. For what it’s worth, the long range forecast models are showing another east pulse around Sunday ahead of another solid south pulse (but with southerly wind and showers) for the start of next week.
Have a great day and stay safe!
Weather Situation
A ridge extends from a high situated in the Tasman Sea. The ridge is expected to be the dominant feature through most of the week, apart from a brief incursion of a weak southerly change midweek, as a series of high pressure systems pass to the south through the week. Then, the next cold front looks set to cross the coastal waters Sunday through early next week.
