As this was being written a little after 0900, the wind was coming lightly from the north and a 1.5 m, 10-sec SE swell was delivering chest high sets on the bombs. The Bureau is warning of large and powerful surf conditions later, but the MHL data from down the coast wasn’t showing anything remarkable as of 0700. So maybe…

Weather Situation
A ridge lies along the New South Wales coast ahead of a weak cold front, which will bring a late southerly wind change to southern and central coastal waters. The front weakens into a trough and slowly crosses the northern coastal waters through Monday, quickly followed by a ridge in its wake.

- North to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots.
- Seas
- Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore during the afternoon.
- Swell
- South to southeasterly 2 to 2.5 metres.

- Mostly sunny.

- Surf conditions in the afternoon and evening may be more powerful than they appear and are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.
