Waves to be had this morning
Hello Friends,
Friday morning’s your chance to get a wave before the SE’ly wind smashes it this weekend.
There were heaps of people in the water when I took the pics around 0830. Sets looked to be in the waist to chest high range at the point and a touch bigger along the beach.
The MHL buoy was showing primary swell coming from the SSE. It was 1.8 metres at 7 seconds at 0700. And that would account for the lumpy, somewhat gutless look to the waves. Wind was SSW at daybreak, but as of 0830 it had moved to straight south at 10-16 kts. It’s due to ramp up and waver from the SE to SW as the day goes along. Also, the swell should build a little too. High tide was at 0730 and the 0.5 m low’s at 1425.
Tomorrow’s call is looking pretty nutty. NE-SE gales and east swell getting up to 4 metres, along with showers and the odd thunderstorm. Nice.
The Goat has rolled out his Thursday evening week-ahead outlook too, so check it out if you haven’t already.
Go well with your Friday!
Weather Situation
Strong to gale force southeasterly winds over the New South Wales coast in the wake of a trough and low moving off the south coast. The trough and low will then track north. Then, a high pressure system will move into the south Tasman Sea, maintaining fresh to strong southeasterly winds over coastal waters.
