Dull, grey and micro
Hello Friends,
Back from an inland sojourn to find no surf for Sydney this Monday morning. Weatherwise it’s a welcome respite from the furnace conditions on Saturday, but a light SE wind and a dominant swell direction from the SSW make for rather bleak surf prospects.
The good news is that swell should swing around to the east by tomorrow morning. The models show an 8-second period and around 1.5 metre heights, so that ought to translate into potentially mildly fun conditions for the morning sessions for the remainder of the week.
The models show the wind regime going around to the south from Thursday along with increasing swell from the ESE to SE. At least one estimation is showing 3 metres at 10 seconds by Saturday, but with drippy skies and stiff southerly wind. However, it’s also predicting light offshores and nearly 3 metres of ESE, 10-second energy for Sunday morning…
Always nice to to see something like that on the long range swell models, so here’s hoping something like that actually happens.

Coastal winds remain mostly east to northeasterly as a ridge extends up the New South Wales coast. By the end of the week, winds will become more south easterly was a trough and low pressure system moves off the coast and in to the Tasman Sea.
