Nearly flat
Hello Friends,
Surface conditions were looking glassy this morning at Dee Why. The wind swung to the SSW around 0530 this morning and was WSW 6-9 kts at 0830. However out at sea the swell was a metre high and dead south with a wind bump period of 5 seconds. So, it’s going to be really small at even the most dialled in locations – think knee to maybe waist at best. Oh, and this morning sees the tide filling in to a 1.97m high at 1120.
Outlook is for the very tiny conditions to persist for for another couple of days and then on Friday we could start to see some sub-10 second NE wind swell in the 1.5 metre range. Wind call from the models is for NE’r light early, but building into the 15-25 kt range by late afternoon Friday.
Saturday’s set to be very hot, so it’s good to see at least the possibility of NE wind swell for the usual spots right through the day.
After that it’s currently shaping to be cloudy on Sunday with south wind, milder temps and a short-period 2+ metre ESE pulse. Maybe!
Go well with your Tuesday.
Weather Situation
A trough brushing the north coast is bringing onshore south to southeasterly winds. Winds will gradually turn northeasterly from Tuesday onwards and continue freshening mid to late this week as a slow-moving high pressure system strengthens over the Tasman Sea while extending a ridge to the coastal areas.
