Saturday east swell

0 1

Hello Friends,

When I saw the beach yesterday evening at Manly, I was hopeful about this morning. And sure enough, the little east swell that was showing then, was lighting up beaches everywhere with shoulder-high wave faces on the sets. Swell at sea was 1.5 m at 7 seconds from the eastPlus, the weather’s cleared and the day got started with light NW wind.Tide was high at 0506 and will bottom out at a 0.74 m – which is a drop of less than a metre. And that means the banks that are working now, should be little changed through the day.

Surf prospects for the coming week look not too bad. The current east pulse will see the longer period stuff fade out, but it should still be at least sort of rideable tomorrow. Then we get a south change on Monday which will, according to some models, see the arrival of longer period energy from Tuesday into Thursday. Wind looks somewhat iffy in because the models showing it staying E-ESE, but the morning sessions hopefully will still be clean-ish because it should be less than 10 kts until midday or so.

Have a great Saturday!
