Grey skies and glassy little lines

0 5

Hello Friends,

The wind swung to the westerly quarters overnight and this morning dawned with overcast skies, passing showers, a WSW breeze and a 1.4 metre 11 second period mix of east and SE swell. At Dee Why as of 0900 that meant waist to maybe chest-high wave faces along the beach. There were a few folks at the point, but I didn’t see them catch anything. Tide was coming into the 1040 1.75 m high, so perhaps as the tide drops things will improve. However, the wind’s expected to go around to the NE later. Water’s around the 20 C mark.

The latest outlook from the swell models for the coming surf week seems to have improved. It now looks as though we’ll have a quick pulse of two metre SE swell filling in tomorrow and peaking Tuesday morning when we are forecast to have light winds early and sunnier skies. Could be fun!

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Weather Situation

A trough is lingering near central parts of the coast with winds expected to tend more north to northeasterly. Southerly winds will develop along the southern and central waters today, spreading to the northern waters on Monday, as a low pressure system forms over the southern Tasman Sea and then moves away to the east. The next trough is forecast to arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday.
