Clean but tiny this morning
Hello Friends,
There may be a 60% chance of a shower later today, but our day kicked off with a tinge of cool to the air, light WNW breezes and clearing skies. As of 0600 swell was 1.5 metres at 8.7 seconds from the ENE, but tide was near the 0740 1.8 m high. There were a few people in the water up the beach from the club, hanging out for a possible wave. I didn’t see anyone get a wave though. Given the numbers, I’d expect optimal exposures to deliver the odd chest high set as the tide starts to back off. Definitely worth a closer look.
The swell models are indicating more marginal but surfable conditions for the morning sessions across the remainder of the week and into next weekend. Right now the next noticeable pulse on the models is about a week away. As usual, we’ll see what we see.
Go well with your day.
Weather Situation
Westerly winds will gradually turn east to northeasterly as a high pressure system drifts across the state midweek. Winds will then turn northerly again later in the week ahead of the next cold front that looks set to cross the coast on the weekend.
