Soft, glassy bumps and grey skies

0 63

Hello Friends,

We had little waves around the place this morning, but energy levels were pretty low and only the stretches well-tuned to the 1.2 metre, 8-second ESE swell direction were showing anything catchable. Size was in the waist to maybe, briefly, chest high zone. Tide peaked at 0700 and will back to low at 1305. Wind has been coming from the north since before daybreak. The Bureau says it’ll settle to the NE and build into the 15-25 kt range as the day goes along. Swell should increase gradually across the day – but not by much.

Tomorrow should see a little more size to the swell, but period and direction aren’t expected to change. From the look of the swell models, Tuesday morning could be best bet as the rest of the week is shaping to be similar or even a bit smaller than today.

Have a good one!

Weather Situation

North to northeasterly winds are freshening ahead of a cold front that will cross the coastal waters between late today through Tuesday, with a fresh and gusty westerly wind change in its wake. Westerly winds will gradually turn east to northeasterly as a high pressure system drifts across the state midweek. Winds will turn northerly again later in the week ahead of the next cold front that looks set to cross the coast on the weekend.
