Another corker
Hello Friends,
Haven’t seen the beach today, so here’s a picture of the exciting conditions at Malibu this afternoon. So, yeah, not happening hereabouts.
Sydney looked pretty quiet as well when I checked it about half an hour ago. The weather (again) looks utterly gorgeous for you. But waves are struggling to make waist high at the better exposures.
Wind as of 0800 was 5-7 kts from the NW and swell offshore from Botany Bay was 0.8 metres from the SSE with a very long 15+ second period. Kinda surprising that it looked so paltry.
The models show no prospect of an improvement for Santa Barbara, but while tomorrow may not be too wonderful surfwise in Sydney, Tuesday is looking reasonably hopeful with potentially shoulder-plus at north ends…
Go well!
Forecast issued at 4:00 am EDT on Saturday 11 October 2025.
Weather Situation
Apart from localised sea breezes, west to northwest winds, gusty at times, will dominate along the coast through to Sunday as a series of fronts skim southern New South Wales and a low pressure trough lies over the state. Sunday’s front in the series will link with the trough and push out over the Tasman Sea on on Monday, bringing a gusty southerly change to southern parts of the coast on Sunday, extending to the remainder of the coast on Monday.
