Saturday looking crazy

0 32

Hello Friends,

I may be about as far as one can be from the sea in Australia, but thanks to the wonders of technology, I can still check the surf prospects back home for Saturday morning.

The Bureau’s advice is, essentially, to stay out of the water. The call is for a south pulse in the 3 to 5(!) metre range to arrive on Saturday morning – along with gale force SW and rainy weather.

As I write this on Friday evening, swell offshore is not quite a metre from the east. So the big stuff is yet to make itself felt. The GFS and ECMWF models show the wave train showing up on platform Sydney in the early afternoon, peaking in the 3-4 metre range overnight, but still being 3-ish metres for the early on Sunday. By then the wind could be light and offshore and the skies sunny once more.

No idea if I’ll have internet tomorrow evening or Sunday, so here’s hoping Sunday is a classic for those of you fit and experienced enough to contemplate jumping in.

Go well!
