Cloudy skies and clean lines

0 8

Hello Friends,

Monday morning started out under mid-level cloudiness with 9-13 kts of westerly wind. Out at sea the dominant swell was 3 metres at 10 seconds apart. But don’t get too excited because it was coming from 190 degress – so the main energy is angled away from our coastline.

Waves at Dee Why were in the chest high range on sets along the beach and somewhat less at the point.

First tide of the day is a 1.49 metre high at 0935. Weather call is for partly cloudy with a 20% chance of a sprinkle and a high of 20. Beachwatch says the water’s looking good at Dee Why and the satellite measurements show water’s 19 C.

Surf outlook is for an east pulse to fill in this afternoon. The Bureau says 2.5 metres by close of play today and then the same again tomorrow morning, but fading back as the day goes along. Wind should be good all day and the rest of the week looks like fun-size waves.

Have a good one!

Weather Situation

A low pressure system and trough over the Tasman Sea is driving a vigorous south to southwesterly flow over the southern and central coastal waters early this morning. Later today the low and trough will weaken as a high pressure ridge extends over the coast, turning the winds north to northeasterly. A cold front is forecast to cross the coast during Wednesday.
