Windswell energy
Hello Friends,
Skies were sunny and the chilly wind was 11-18 kts from the WSW as Sunday started. Out at sea, the MHL buoy has gone adrift, so looking at the data from off Botany Bay the swell was dead south, 2.4 metres and 9 seconds apart. That should see chest plusses at optimally aligned spots. I’m mildly surprised that Dee Why was so small when I took the pics. Maybe it was a lull. I’ll go for a closer look shortly.
The swell models continue to predict a steadily increasing S-SE swell as we head into the coming week. Tomorrow morning should still have SW wind, but after that we’re facing SE around to east wind until maybe Friday. Plus from tomorrow the rain returns and the weather is set to be showery into the weekend. Our exceptionally wet August continues.
Hit your fave south zone today and tomorrow morning ’cause it’s probably going to be ho-hum for the rest of the week.

Weather Situation
A cold front lies off the northeast coast, with southwesterly winds in its wake. Winds are likely to tend southerly later today and into Monday after the passage of another front, and as a trough develops along the coast. This trough looks likely to linger near the coast for much of the week, causing winds to gradually turn easterly.
