Waves around but water quality an issue

0 5

Hello Friends,

Passing showers kept me from getting a picture of the beach first up (will post something as soon as I get a break in the weather), but from the look of the Beachwatch report, you probably wouldn’t want to get in the water at many places. Surf at better exposures looks to be kinda lumpy but in the chest to head high range on sets – so many will be tempted to test their immunity.

Swell out at sea is still sitting on the 1.9 metre mark. It’s 10-11 seconds apart and coming from the SE as of 0700 – so about where it was yesterday.  Wind at North Head was westerly 6-9 kts at 0830. Tide was hitting the 1.4 metre high at 0855. Air temp was 10 C at 0830 and the forecast tells us it’ll only get to 16 C on a Sunday that promises to be on-again, off-again showery all day. Water’s on 19 C.

As the Goat would say, the next three days look like being ditto, ditto, ditto variations on the theme of today, ie nothing amazing, but definitely in the rideable range along the open stretches. Weather’s set to be showery for at least another couple of days.

Both the GFS and ECMWF swell models are showing a 3-ish metre south pulse on the cards from Monday the 18th… That’s obviously a long way out, but it’s still nice to at least have the prospect of some more winter season size.

Go well with your Sunday everyone!

Beachwatch this morning. Either suss or bad water quality most everywhere.
