Showery, clean for the early
Hello Friends,
When I checked in at around 0630, the weather radar was a riot of colour and showers were coming through the beaches at regular intervals. Wind was light SW – despite the Bureau’s call for SE. Swell at sea 1.9 metres from the east at 12 seconds apart. At Dee Why this was translating into somewhat lumpy, but glassy chest-plusses on the sets. The swell had a kind of slow, lumbering look to it that was at least partly related to the fact that the modest high of 1.37 metres was just off its 0815 peak.
Beachwatch rates the water as Pollution Possible at Dee Why and Pollution Likely at the lagoon entrances and along the entirety of Manly. Water’s on 18.
Weather Situation
A trough lies along the northern NSW waters is forecast to bring unsettled conditions. A ridge from the south is expected to settle across the coast and ranges from today, directing east to southeasterly winds across the weekend and into next week. Then, the ridge is forecast to drift to the coastal waters early next week, turning the winds northerly for the southern half of the coast.
