The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 31 July 2025: Seven day outlook for Sydney

Someone yelled out to TG: Should I be thinking about a surf soon??

TG put some data into his supercomputer brain, and thought for a moment… Hmm

Swell offshore has come up to around 4-8 metres from dead South, but with the wave period being below than the magic 10 seconds size at receptive locations is a lot more modest

Max temps expected eg tomorrow 15; Current temp on the coast about 10, with a feels like of below 5. The breeze is a fresh 30-40 kph oscilating like a fan around SSW coming up from Antarctic regions – all the way to Qld – blowing icyness past his ears, with alternating heavy rain, showers and blue patches to keep you guessing

Water temp 18 ish, going down

Partially treated sewage discharge from Warriewood STP in the wet weather

A Low expected to develop up off the North Coast around Sunday, and a Large surf warning for Sydney from the Bureau

TG’s Observations over the last coupla days :

0-1 People out

3 Warships heading for Sydney shelter

0 Whales

1 Sleek Seal gleefully gliding around chasing fish to munch on.. about 10 metres from shore

No AI..  TGI >>>

He replied:

With age comes wisdom, grasshopper...

And left him to ponder that.

Sizeableness….

Friday: somewhere in the 1-2 metre range South East

Saturday: ditto then up a bit East South East

Sunday: increasing into the 2-3 metre range East – if the Low behaves as expected

Monday :ditto ditto

Tuesday: ditto ditto

Wednesday: ditto, starting to ease back

Thursday: ditto

Stay warm.

This’ll wake you up. make you feel good!!

Keep smiling!
