Jumbled mess this morning

0 25

Hello Friends,

We’re taking a break from the run of sunny weather and surfable conditions. As the Bureau warned yesterday evening, this morning sees 24-34 kts of NE wind and the odd spot of the showery stuff. From the look of the weather radar at daybreak, the precipitation may have finished by around lunchtime. Not that it matters much where the surf’s concerned.
At 0500 the MHL buoy was detecting 2.1 metres of 7.4 sec wind swell from the NNE-NE.But as you can see from the pictures, it’s tiny, weak, disorganised and generally unappealing. There might possibly be a little something for the late this afternoon, but I’d give it only a 10% chance of worthiness.
Beyond that, the front half of the coming week was not looking super-dooper terrific for us. Tomorrow and Monday are meh, but maybe Tuesday-Wednesday we start getting back into the fun range as a fresh S-SE pulse builds toward the 2 metre mark Thursday-Friday.
Have a good one everybody!

Weather Situation

High pressure lies off the NSW coast today as a cold front approaches generally bringing increasing north to northeasterly winds. The cold front crosses the coast, turning the winds north to northwesterly behind it, commencing in the south early this morning reaching the QLD border later night. Behind the front, there is a a follow up trough arriving during Sunday which may bring some additional wind surges along central waters. Later during Monday and Tuesday, the winds trend westerly and high pressure settles over the coast briefly, before the next cold front is forecast to cross the coast Wednesday.
