Choppy but rideable
Hello Friends,
Are you keen? Well, there are waves of a sort this morning thanks to a 1.5 metre 7-second NE wind swell. As you can see from the pics, surface conditions aren’t super smooth but waves are consistently around the knee to waist-high range – with the occasional chest high set keeping it interesting. The wind was coming lightly from the WNW as of 0800. Wind should swing SW later and the Bureau says the swell will back off a bit but not fade out.
Outlook is for similar energy levels to last through Friday. So that’s good!
Have a top old Wednesday everybody.
Weather Situation
A cold front will cross the coastal waters today before heading offshore, with a west to southwesterly wind change in its wake, and this will be followed by a high pressure system that will drift across the state later this week. Meanwhile, a cut-off low pressure system looks set to develop over the Bight and move towards Tasmania through the weekend, whipping a strong cold front that will cross the coastal waters during the weekend.
