The Goat’s Surf Forecast
Surf forecast issued Thursday 17 July 2025: Seven day outlook for Sydney
Well today the ocean was very peaceful, living up to its Pacific nomenclature (big word for TG), but it was a different story some other days this week…Even so, on the smaller wave occasions, the waves were quite good quality.
See how much better it is for you being an optimist even when it’s against the odds ~~~~
You might want to bear that in mind for the coming week. Keep your sense of humour and your sense of perspective, both about the surf and the world at large!
The Surf Outlook is
Friday: around 1 metre or less at places that like swell from dead South
Saturday: ditto
Sunday: ditto again
Monday: and again again
Tuesday: maybe possibly up from the East, possibly maybe 1.5 metres and/ or plus
Wednesday: call it a ditto from South East
Thursday: hmm dittoish.
Couple of interesting things for you:
The Bureau says even on sunny days at this time of the year…
“Sun protection not recommended, UV Index predicted to reach 2 [Low]”
TG says he counted 35 whale spouts one morning this week, virtually one after another, almost in a line from about 15- 20ks out, on their way North. No doubt family groups who had sheltered from rougher conditions earlier, now resuming their “road trip” up the coast for the holidays, by heading out to the warmer current.
Have a good one!
TG.
