Fading away to micro
Hello Friends,
Only the faintest of faint lines showing at Dee Why this morning when I grabbed the daily pic. Apart from the chilly air and dull grey skies, the surface conditions were smooth thanks to the light NW wind. But despite the 1.2 metre, 11-second SSE swell, Dee Why looked to be around the knee-high range at best.
Outlook for surf is not great for the next few days if the Bureau and the swell models have it right. Both the ECM and GFS models show conditions being near-flat to flat as the swell stays around the metre mark from the south, but the periods slip into the sub-8 second range. For what it’s worth, they’re projecting it to stay this way into early next week. On their current reckoning, we could see a very brief 2-ish metre east pulse around Wednesday. Maybe. Possibly. Hopefully!
Go well everyone!
Weather Situation
A trough is developing in the state’s far north and heading eastwards while a series of cold fronts brushes the far south and a high pressure ridge extends across the central areas, maintaining westerly airstream. Then, another trough looks set to brush the coast late Thursday through Friday, bringing a southerly wind change.
