Firing up on Friday morning

0 3

Hello Friends,

It was head-high plus on the sets as of 0800 on a mostly sunny, but still breezy Friday morning. The swell continues its gradual decline, at report time it was still 2.5 metres at 10 seconds from the SE. Wind was 9-14 kts, so surface conditions were clean. The modelling shows the energy levels staying in the head high range through the day.

Weather Situation

A complex low pressure system is gradually moving away over the Tasman Sea, however its presence still sees strong winds and large powerful surf into this evening. Winds and surf conditions are forecast to ease gradually later in the week as the system moves further offshore and it is followed by a large high pressure ridge moving across the state. During the weekend a weakening cold front and trough are expected to cross the state. This will be followed by a stronger cold front mid-week bringing a return to gusty winter westerlies.
